Donald Trump – Road To The White House

Donald J. Trump was born in 1946 to New York real estate developer Frederick Trump and Scottish born Mary Ann MacLeod. While his opponent was going to Wellesley, Donald went to the Wharton School, which was a private business school. He graduated in 1968 with a degree in economics. During his college years, he also worked for his father’s real estate and construction firm. In 1971 at the age of 25, his father gave him the business which was later renamed “The Trump Organization”. Mr. Trump has said that he worked from the bottom up but the truth is in 1978, Fred Trump gave him a $1 million loan which he used for his first big Manhattan project, a hotel that would replace the aging Commodore property, which also gave him an option on old Penn Central railroad properties. This was Donald’s first big accomplishment, and it helped put Donald Trump on the map nearly ten years after Clinton had already accomplished her first major achievement. 2 years prior to this deal, Donald Trump claimed to be worth $200 million, although he was only 30. What he doesn’t explain is if he was worth $200 million, why did he need a $1 million loan from good old dad? It wasn’t until 1981 that we would find out exactly how much Mr. Trump truly was worth when he applied for his first casino license. His tax returns at the time indicated that his salary was less than $100,000 a year, which he received as an officer of his father’s company. Although his father had gave him the company, Fred still maintained the CEO position in the company. Between 1975 and 1977, his total combined income was only $219,000. We also know that he paid no income taxes in the only two available tax returns in 1978 and 1979. Another lucrative deal was the fact that Fred Trump opened eight separate trusts for his children valued at $1 million each. Donald Trump would go on to collect another $440,000 from this trust as well as another $2,000 a year from an older trust set up in 1949. Let’s not forget the annual Christmas money of $6,000. Donald Trump claims that he built his empire from nothing but between 1971 and 1981, he received nearly $2.25 million from good old dad. This does not include the many loans that his father continued to give him, including a $7.5 million loan.

In 1993, Fred Trump’s children were hoping to each get roughly $35 million each once their father passed away. This timeframe is interesting as this would be the time that Fred Trump would begin to suffer from Alzheimer’s. With Donald’s casinos failing in Atlantic City, Donald needed money desperately and attempted to borrow $10 million to fund his living and office expenses but had no collateral to offer his siblings. Later, he would attempt to borrow another $20 million but his siblings pushed back, later agreeing on a smaller amount. Did I mention that Donald Trump claimed to be worth over $200 million at the time? Figured I would put that out there. Donald Trump attempted to sue author Timothy O’Brien for his claims in the 2005 book “Trump Nation” for exposing Donald’s financial lies. Trump insisted that he never borrowed any money from the estate. In a 2007 deposition related to the lawsuit, Trump admitted he did, in fact, borrow money but disputed the amount claiming it was only about $9 million. Also during the time that Trump’s Atlantic City casinos were struggling, Fred Trump purchased $3.5 million in poker chips, which casino authorities said was an illegal loan. While Donald did manage to build many structures that housed some of the gaudiest stylings, he did so by taking out various loans which he still owes upwards of $600,000,000 to his foreign bankers and backers.

Donald Trump would continue licensing his name to various entities, which would give him licensing fees in return. He would use some of this money to purchase various vanity projects such as the Miss USA pageant system in 1996. This would also give him control of the Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe pageants until he was forced to sell them in 2015 after he disparaged Mexican citizens in his Presidential announcement speech. He originally aired the pageants on the CBS network but after dissatisfaction with scheduling, he moved the pageants to the NBC network in 2002. It was this partnership that would be irreperably harmed forcing him to sell the pageant to WME/IMG shortly after his Presidential announcement. His time with the pageant was marred in scandal. He sued one of the contestants for $5 million after she accused him of rigging the show. The contestant lost the case. He also called a Miss Universe “piggy” because she had gained weight. He also famously stood behind 2006 Miss USA Tara Conner who tested positive for cocaine. This would start the famous feud between comedienne Rosie O’Donnell, who felt that it was wrong to allow Conner to retain the crown. Donald Trump would go on to call O’Donnell horrific names like “real loser” and “a woman out of control”. He would continue to attack O’Donnell months later while even offering his opinion on Republican View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck, saying she was “not a very smart person, she’s one of the dumber people in television.” Five years later, he continued his attack on O’Donnell by saying her partner’s parents are devastated that she is with Rosie – a true loser. He has also attacked various media personalities whom he disagrees with such as Lawrence O’Donnell, Don Lemon, Maureen Dowd. The list goes on and on. This man wants to be President of the United States. How can we elect a man who holds grudges for ten years?

Notice, I haven’t listed any of his public accomplishments, because they don’t exist. He claims that his empire is an accomplishment, but based on the available information out there, it appears his corporation has lived from loan to loan with very little financial input from Donald Trump himself. He claims to be worth $9 billion but no one can verify this because he refuses to release any taxes. His charity, the Trump Foundation, is far from a charity and more like a money laundering operation, which allows him to collect donations from others and then distribute those funds under the name of Donald J. Trump, even though he has not given a single donation to his foundation since 2008. He is currently under a RICO investigation for fraud in regards to his defunct bait and switch Ponzi Scheme called Trump University. Multiple enrollees filed complaints across the country due to the predatory practices. Documents have shown that agents of Trump University would prey upon elderly and uneducated citizens to take as much money as possible. When an attendee would show up at a seminar, which would be held in low-rent hotel ballrooms, agents would up-sell them to buy more products and services. When an attendee would say they didn’t have any more money, agents would advise them to take out loans or borrow money from friends and family to purchase more. The “University” claimed to offer Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate Programs, although this was never the case. The “university” also claimed that it offered secret insights from Donald Trump himself, although Trump would later claim that was never the case. He would go on to claim that he hand-picked instructors yet he never actually did so. Donald Trump was warned as far back as 2005 that he could not bill it as a “university” because it did not have a charter, which was required in New York state. Case 3:10-cv-00940 is set to go to trial on November 28th, 2016, less than 3 weeks after the election. This is not the only case that Donald Trump has faced. Mr. Trump has been sued a record 3,500 times. Many were from small businesses that Trump refused to pay as agreed. He would claim that he doesn’t pay for inferior work, but the only arbitrator on the quality is Donald J. Trump. Many small businesses have been forced out of business because of Donald Trump’s refusal to pay on his contracts. He has also been accused of rape on more than one occasion, including by his first wife, Ivana Trump. When the book “Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives Of Donald Trump” came out, an additional note was added to the book where she recanted her previous accusations under the pressure of lawyers at Trump Corporation. His lawyer at the time was Michael Cohen, who still represents Mr. Trump. He is currently being sued by a Jane Doe complainant for a rape that occurred in 1994 when the complainant was 13 years old. She claimed that she was raped by Mr. Trump while he attended parties at convicted sexual offender and socialite Jeffrey Epstein. There are multiple witness statements. The case was recently dismissed so that the complainant could add additional witnesses. He was also accused of raping a woman that he partnered with for a swimsuit calendar.

This brings us to the last year since Donald Trump came down the escalator on June 16, 2015 where he immediately began attacking immigrants by saying Mexico is sending criminals and rapists across the border. He began his campaign with xenophobia and he has evolved to include anti-black, anti-LGBT, anti-Semitic and the list goes on and on. His entire campaign has been based on fear and hate. He has embraced the Alt-Right movement. He has retweeted white supremacists over 75 times in the last year. He has attacked his opponent in the most degrading and hypocritical way possible. He has not apologized for anything he has said or done. He did offer a half-assed apology to the entire public for anything he says or does, but refused to specifically admit what he did wrong. This man wants to be the next President of the United States, but his record lacks any public service unless you call being fined for discrimination against African-Americans in his properties or his numerous questionable donations to politicians in order to get something in return a public service. He claims that his opponent is guilty of pay-for-play yet his foundation is the only one who has been caught, fined and is currently under investigation for questionable donations to AG Pam Bondi of Florida and former AG Greg Abbott of Texas. If elected, Donald Trump would be the most unethical and corrupt person to ever take a seat in the Oval Office. It is time we stand up and make sure our voices are heard loud and clear. Get out and vote. Talk to your neighbors, friends and family. Talk to strangers about what this election means for America. The White House will be won by getting out the vote. Like President Obama says, “Dont boo! VOTE!”
